January swap cards.

I got cards from Kim and Millie for the January swap.

Kim made this one.  Isn't it stinkin cute?  I love the cupcake & ice cream cone brad.  This card is so different from the normal card.  I love it.  Thanks Kim!

Millie made these 2 cards.  She used the fuzzy stuff on the animal.  So soft.  I also love the assorted gems she used in the corners.  Her snowman is so cute & I love the clear snowflake she used down in the lower corner.  Very cute.  Thanks Millie!

Thanks ladies I can't wait to see what will come in my mail box next month.  I need to get busy and get something done for next month.

January card swap!

Here are the 2 cards I sent out to the girls.  I only need 1 blank card a month but I was feeling creative so I sent 2.  That won't happen every month, but it worked out for this month.  I was still in the snowy mood when I made these.

I used a stamp image from long ago so I can't tell you where that image of the snow family came from.  I did use Jolly Holidays cricut cart for the mittens.  Snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder for the background of both cards.  Spellbinders, Fancy tags, and a Studio g stamp for the sentiment on the mittens card.  I hope the ladies like their cards.  Now to think of something to send for next month.

Snail Mail

Computer can be handy for a quick message, but it is still nice to go to your mailbox and receive a letter/card.  I like to think we card makers keep a small part of the post office in business.  Here is a snail mail card I made.  The stamp I used came from Stampers Best  They have some cool vintage type stamps, and their prices are really good.  Have a great day, and as always Happy Crafting!

Snowman card

With all the snow we got around the holidays it put me in a snowman mood.  Here is a card I made using a image that was stamped for me many years ago.  Probably way back in the 90's.  I decided it sat around collecting dust long enough.  Time to do something with it.

I used one of the Martha Stewart snowflake punches for the blue snowflakes.  I recently bought 5 sets of MME stamps from My Craft Channel.  First time I ordered from them.  It was a pretty good deal.  I was pleased.  One the stamps sets from The sweetest thing was the bright silly happy words so I used them with some silver embossing powder.  The background paper came from MME Miss Caroline 6x6 paper pad.  The stamps and paper pad were both by Jen Allyson.  I used Copic's for coloring him.  I have to say I am no expert at using those markers.  I don't have a lot of them so if I need a color and don't have it in Copic's then I improvise with the Spectrum noir ones I do have.  For me coloring is relaxing, & fun.  I think I may send this card out to my son who is in Air Force tech school right now.  I think it passes as a guy card.  Boy was it hard when he was in basic training and I couldn't send anything but plain white paper letters and no glitter........It was a crafters nightmare........LOL.

Happy New Year!

Time to start fresh for the New Year.  I hope everyone had a great holiday season.  I know I did.  Millie, and Kim started talking about starting the card swap again this year.  We decided this time to only do 1 card, blank inside for each person.  Any theme we want to do.  Whatever our creative souls feel like making.  This way it will be easier to fulfill when we hit a few life bumps in the road during the year.  I will do my best to post more on my blog.  I put down my kindle and went back to my craft space.  I still like to read but just not at the crazy pace I was.  Happy New Year & as always Happy Crafting!
