August card swap

Wow where did the month of July go?  It just seemed to fly right by.  Well onto the August card swap.  This month I sent out a little something different then a card.  I tried my hand at making them each a layout.

Here is what I sent to Millie.

Millie has a little kitty named peanut so I thought I would make her a cat layout.  I used pattern papers I got from a Piggy tales warehouse box sale.  I am a sucker for those warehouse box sales.  You can get some neat stuff in them for a great price.  The photo mat in the middle is for a 4"x6" picture.  The Cricut lite cart used was Four Legged Friends.
The word meow and the yarn ball were cut at 1.5"
The 2 cats were cut at 3"
The little paw prints in the circles were cut at 1"
The heart with the paw print inside was cut at 2.5"

This card was made using a Penny Black stamp that Kim gave me.  It is called winter fairy.  I just love this stamp.  I made a 5"x7" card with it.  It is a pretty big stamp.  I colored her using Spectrum Noir markers.  I added some stickles to the wings and snowball but it is hard to see in this picture.

Millie loves snowmen.  I picked this little guy up for her.  She really liked it.  She loves all and any kind of snowmen.

I sent Millie and Kim each one of these BoBunny stamps to get them ready and geared up for this coming fall.  Which is coming up fast.  Too fast!

Ok next on to what I sent Kim.

I did a little boy layout for Kim.  She has 2 nephews she adores.  The picture mat is 4"x6".  I used 2 Cricut carts to make this one.  Nate's ABCs & Create a Critter.
Nate's ABCs is the little boy holding the jar with the bug in it cut at 3.5"
Create a Critter cart cuts:
Sun 3"
Monkey 2.5"
Turtle 1.5"
Bee 2.5"
Clouds 2" & 2.5"
Grass patches 1.5"
The word Cute 2.5"
The vine going down the picture mat is 2 vines welded together.  I used the Cricut cut room to make it.  I forgot to write down what I cut it at though.  Sorry about that.

I made Kim a card similar to Millie's.  I just used softer colors on Kim's.  No particular reason just wanted to color them different.  It was a fun stamp to color.

For Kim I got her a Sizzix bigz die also.  I got her the stocking.  These dies are awesome because each one comes with a embossing folder.  I also got myself the snowman & stocking.  I can't wait to try them out.  They should make Christmas cards a snap.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and as always Happy Crafting!

Card for Busy Sister!

My sister has been busy working overtime and getting ready for her first grandbaby.  I thought I would just send her a card to say hi and let her know she is in my thoughts.  I used Create a Critter cricut cart pg. 68 for the word Busy.  Then I used "Just Because" Cards cricut cart for the bee and the word bee pg. 56.  Added some bling and sent it on its way.  I like making cards for my family & friends.  They don't have to be perfect for me.  It is just a nice way to let them know they are in my thoughts and it gives me a chance to relax and enjoy crafting.  Have a great day!

B-day cards

My daughters birthday is coming up soon so I figured I would get busy making her card.  I asked her what her favorite colors were (cause with kids they can change from day to day).  She said lime green and blue.  All rightie then.  I made the cake from the Simply Charmed cricut cart and used lime green and blue.  Added a couple of blue buttons with green twine tied through them.  So happy to get it done ahead of time.  Then............

She says you didn't ask what kind of animal I liked.  I knew right away what she was talking about.  The Create a Critter cart.  She loves the animals in this cart.  So I gave her the book to look through and tell me what animal she wanted.  She picked the lamb.  I decided since I already did lime green and blue on the cake card I was going to do the lamb card with the colors I felt like.  For this card I remember to write down what I cut the dies at.  I cut the lamb at 3¾".  Happy birthday at 1½".  The grass I cut from Straight from the Nest cart.  I used design studio to cut the grass because I wanted to make sure it would go the lenght of the bottom of the card.  I cut it at 2½" in DS.  I embossed the grass with swiss dots.  It is a 5X7 card.  Put a little bling by the Happy Birthday and I am now done with the 2nd birthday card.  I hope she likes them.  Thanks for looking.

Congrats card!

My niece got a apartment on her own for the first time.  She usually would share with another girl.  I wanted to send her a little congrats for getting out on her own.  I made the house on the card with Create a Critter cart, and the congrats I made with Stamping solution cart.  I use both those carts a lot.  There are so many good cuts on them.  I love using Stamping solution for little sayings like the congrats.  I was in a flower mood so I put a bunch of little prima flowers around.  Some of the flowers are still wet from the glue.  I added a couple cute butterflies I had left over from a card I posted on her a while back.  I like to keep extra die cuts that I have left over from making a card.  You never know when you could use them.  I also used pearl glimmer mist on the flowers.  I love that one because it leaves a nice amount of sparkle.

A card using create a critter.

Made this card for a friend who was feeling under the weather.  I used houndtooth cuttlebug folder for the red strip in the middle of the card.
