Made a couple cards today. I have decided to try and make a extra card when I can so I have a few around when I need one. So here I made 2 but made a slight change in color on one just to keep it interesting. I got a 6 piece die set of Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Circles awhile back and decided to give them a try. I do like them for making a quick circle but I still rely on using my cricut for most cuts. I bought a pack of Ebony & Ivory Core'dination colorcore cardstock last weekend and wanted to try this paper out also. So I embossed the paper with birds & swirls cuttlebug folder and then sanded it with a fine sand paper to bring out the white underneath. I am really liking this paper. I used some Jilliebean soup twine to wrap around the paper with a yellow button. The bird stamp is a wooden block stamp from Michael's dollar bins. The your tweet saying is from a studio G stamp another dollar stamp. Not sure where I picked it up at. Believe it or not I used some plain ole bic markers to color the bird. I liked how bright these markers were. I do have some copic markers but only 11 of them and not the colors I wanted to use. Some day I will have more. I just add to my little stash of copics one at a time. Here and there.

Mini Pocket Page
Last week I seen this tutorial on youtube on making a mini pocket page. Kathy from http://www.paperphenomenon.blogspot.com/ is the one who did the tutorial. Here is the link to the tutorial on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-r7PxDIIgzs She does a lot of wonderful projects. This pocket page is so cute to give as a gift or to put pictures of loved ones in it to carry in your purse. Also makes a great add on to a mini album. Best thing about it is it can be done in a hour or so depending on how much you decide to embellish it. Quick, fun, & easy!

Making flowers again
Yep I was at it again. I had yesterday off so I started tinkering around and ended up making some flowers. I cut pieces of my home town newspaper up and glued it to reg white card stock. Then using the Tim Holtz sizzix tattered florals die. I ran the paper through the cuttlebug. I don't know what I was thinking. I just wanted some newpaper printed paper like. I embossed the ends of the flowers in my black & gold embossing powder I had for years and forgot all about till yesterday. Back from my rubber stamping/card making days. I curled some of the flowers petals. It was more of a play time for me then anything. I figure if I practice enough some day I will make some really great flowers. I did watch a live ustream last night on making flowers. I learned some new things. Here is a link to the site. http://paperphenomenon.blogspot.com/ It is under the title FFFF for Feb First Fabulous Flowers
I am keeping hope alive that I will make some really beautiful flowers here in the future. I know it is easy to just buy them but what fun is that?

Congrats card for my niece
My niece is going to have a baby so I made a congrats card for her. I used the Cricut Sampler cart to make the stork. I used green & yellow since we don't know whether it will be a boy or girl yet. I used a shimmery white paper for the stork and a shimmery gold paper for the congrats. I put tiny yellow glass beads for the band around the stork's hat. I sprayed the flowers with marshmallow glimmer mist. I love using glimmer mist every chance I get.

Trying something new
Well if you read my last post I had some time on my hands today. I decided to make a card and try stitching. Well as I was looking through my papers I decided it is time to use a piece I really like. You know the ones you buy and never want to cut up. I really liked this owl paper and decided time to use it. Make room for new paper. I pulled out my sewing maching and blew the dust off of it. I did a stitch around the page. I found out hey I can do this and I like it. I used Stamping solution cart for the owl & hello.
Some crafting time due to school closing.
They closed school today because of the icy roads. Well I work at the school so when they close school for bad weather not only are my kids happy but it is a day off for me as well. Yes we will have to make it up but we try not to think of that and just enjoy the day off.
Yesterday I got my order from 2 peas in a bucket. In that order was a bottle of Coffee Shop & Marshmallow Glimmer Mist, and some Prima bling. The Prima bling was on sale I couldn't resist. Anywho I decided to spray one of my white prima flowers with the coffee shop glimmer mist. I just loved the look I got. I sprayed a smaller white prima flower with the marshmallow mist and hooked them together with a brown jewel brad. I had to do something with that flower so here it is. Just a simple A2 card. I used gypsy wanderings for the butterfly. Hope you all get time to craft today too.

8th Birthday layout
Ok let me start by first saying I don't do well with layouts. I used to do them back in the 90's when all we had was some Mrs Grossman stickers and tiny paper punches. I really didn't have much in supplies then. I put all that away and just picked it back up not quite 2 years ago. I have only done 6 layouts since then and this is the 6th one. After being away from it for so long I could not believe the product that was out there for scrapbooking. Now when I look at all the beautiful scrapbooking layouts I feel intimidated. I have a long way to go before mine will look that good. It is a slow process for me because I like making cards more. I used to make cards back in the 90's also but had a lot more supplies for that. This is just a simple layout. I used the tear bear I made earlier and I used sweet treats cart to make the party hat for him and the number 8. I am always open for advice to improve. Comments are welcome.
I am so far behind in scraping my kids that I decided to work on their birthdays first and then go from there.

A surprise in the mail today.
When I got my mail out of the box today I had a bubble envelope addressed to me. I opened it up and this is what was inside. A very very cute card from my friend. What a sweetie! She did a great job on this one. Thanks Millie you put a smile on my face today.
Little tin mailboxes
Last year I got my friend who lives close to a Target to pick me up a couple of those cute little tin mailboxes. Well I ended up not doing anything with them. This year I decided to make sure to do something with them.

Making handmade paper flowers.
I am someone who likes to go looking at time to time at online scrapbook stores. You never know when you can find a good deal or two. So I am looking at all the beautiful Prima flowers wanting them all but for some reason I have not been able to pick the right lottery numbers to achieve this goal. I thought maybe I can find some new flowers to make by watching videos on you tube. Well I found one I wanted to try, and I am sorry I can't even remember the name because I looked at so many. Here is my try at some handmade paper flowers. For the colors I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads. Green is peeled paint, Blue is broken china, and the bigger off white one I used antique linen, and the 2 smaller brownish ones I used vintage photo.
They were fairly easy to make. I just took 8 2inch paper scalloped circles for the bigger flower. I used the Ranger's blending tool and did each edge of the scalloped circle making sure to get it well covered. Spray each circle with a squirt of water. Crumple each circle up and then uncrumple it. You take a paper piercer in the middle through all the circles and then insert a brad in that hole. After that you crunch up each layer one at time. Then open it up till you get the desired shape you want. I also sprayed some tattered angels to give them a bit of glitter. The little ones I used a Martha Stewart 1inch scalloped circle punch and only 6 of them not 8.

Winter Wishes
I made this card using the idea from the Cards magazine. I really love this magazine. Helps out when your having a creative block. I used a Martha Stewart snowflake punch & the Martha Stewart punch around the page snowflake punch for the border. The beads in the center of the snowflake are a deep red but it is hard to tell with this picture.

Butterfly cards
I got the idea for these cards off of a magazine called Cards. I received a free digital copy of the magazine yesterday. I never seen this magazine before yesterday and I really like it. It is packed full of cards. If you happen to get the magazine I lifted my card from page 92. I used Home Accents Cricut cart on blackout for the butterflies. The second card I made was just a mini with some left over butterflies.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I was busy New Years Eve making another Valentine day card. I used Cindy Loo cart for the back ground. The stamped heart I got from Michael's dollar bin last year. The one flower in the upper left corner with the pearl in the center was hand made. I learned how to make it watching a video on Creations with Christina blog on flower tutorials.
