January swap cards.

I got cards from Kim and Millie for the January swap.

Kim made this one.  Isn't it stinkin cute?  I love the cupcake & ice cream cone brad.  This card is so different from the normal card.  I love it.  Thanks Kim!

Millie made these 2 cards.  She used the fuzzy stuff on the animal.  So soft.  I also love the assorted gems she used in the corners.  Her snowman is so cute & I love the clear snowflake she used down in the lower corner.  Very cute.  Thanks Millie!

Thanks ladies I can't wait to see what will come in my mail box next month.  I need to get busy and get something done for next month.

January card swap!

Here are the 2 cards I sent out to the girls.  I only need 1 blank card a month but I was feeling creative so I sent 2.  That won't happen every month, but it worked out for this month.  I was still in the snowy mood when I made these.

I used a stamp image from long ago so I can't tell you where that image of the snow family came from.  I did use Jolly Holidays cricut cart for the mittens.  Snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder for the background of both cards.  Spellbinders, Fancy tags, and a Studio g stamp for the sentiment on the mittens card.  I hope the ladies like their cards.  Now to think of something to send for next month.

Snail Mail

Computer can be handy for a quick message, but it is still nice to go to your mailbox and receive a letter/card.  I like to think we card makers keep a small part of the post office in business.  Here is a snail mail card I made.  The stamp I used came from Stampers Best  They have some cool vintage type stamps, and their prices are really good.  Have a great day, and as always Happy Crafting!

Snowman card

With all the snow we got around the holidays it put me in a snowman mood.  Here is a card I made using a image that was stamped for me many years ago.  Probably way back in the 90's.  I decided it sat around collecting dust long enough.  Time to do something with it.

I used one of the Martha Stewart snowflake punches for the blue snowflakes.  I recently bought 5 sets of MME stamps from My Craft Channel.  First time I ordered from them.  It was a pretty good deal.  I was pleased.  One the stamps sets from The sweetest thing was the bright silly happy words so I used them with some silver embossing powder.  The background paper came from MME Miss Caroline 6x6 paper pad.  The stamps and paper pad were both by Jen Allyson.  I used Copic's for coloring him.  I have to say I am no expert at using those markers.  I don't have a lot of them so if I need a color and don't have it in Copic's then I improvise with the Spectrum noir ones I do have.  For me coloring is relaxing, & fun.  I think I may send this card out to my son who is in Air Force tech school right now.  I think it passes as a guy card.  Boy was it hard when he was in basic training and I couldn't send anything but plain white paper letters and no glitter........It was a crafters nightmare........LOL.

Happy New Year!

Time to start fresh for the New Year.  I hope everyone had a great holiday season.  I know I did.  Millie, and Kim started talking about starting the card swap again this year.  We decided this time to only do 1 card, blank inside for each person.  Any theme we want to do.  Whatever our creative souls feel like making.  This way it will be easier to fulfill when we hit a few life bumps in the road during the year.  I will do my best to post more on my blog.  I put down my kindle and went back to my craft space.  I still like to read but just not at the crazy pace I was.  Happy New Year & as always Happy Crafting!

Found some inspiration at the Mall

I took my daughter school shopping Friday at the mall.  I decided to make a stop at Bath &Body Works.  I found a really great body lotion called Sweet on Paris.  Smells yummy.  I decided to make a card with some Paris influence.  I used paper from MME, Lost & Found 8X8 Blush cardstock pad.  It was fun to make and it never hurts to build up my card stash.

End of Summer Vacation

Wow I can't believe summer is almost over.  It really flew by for me.  I didn't even post all summer long.  I got a Kindle in June.  I got caught up in reading my summer vacation away.  I didn't make any cards till today.  My sister's birthday is coming up on Wed. so I had to get in my craft room and make her a card.  I don't have central air.....just the shove a air conditioner in the window set up.  My craft room doesn't benefit from the air conditioner and using a fan with paper laying around in the room just won't work.  Now that cooler weather is on the way it is not so bad in my craft space anymore.  Hopefully I will get back on track now.  Hope you all had a great summer.  Here is the quick and simple card I made for my sister.

Stampendous stamped card

I made this card with a Stampendous stamp I had from years ago.  I don't know if you can even get this stamp anymore.  I guess I must be in the fruit mood since I was doing strawberry cards and now a card with a apple.

I have also been working on a few small cards for friends and will post them in the future.  Oh yeah and I still need to make my male themed cards for next month swap.  That is a tough one for me.

Strawberry stamp challenge

Well I sent the ladies a challenge.  I got 3 stamps from Stampers best   It is a bunch of strawberries.  I challenged the ladies to make a card with the stamp and send one to each of us.  I gave the challenge 60 days if they wanted to do it.  If not just keep the stamp anyways.  This was just for fun.  Kim completed the challenge and sent me a card.  I also completed the challenge and sent my cards out.  Here I forgot to take a pix of the card I sent out.  So here is the one Kim sent me.  Thanks Kim for doing the challenge.  Love the card and the lace is a extra touch I love.

Fairy digi b-day card

Here awhile back I entered a card in the Queen's Royal Digi challenge.  Well I won a choice of 4 digi's from Delicious Doodles  She has some really awesome digi's.  If your a fairy lover like me you will flip for her fairies.  Of course I picked out 4 fairy digi's.  Thanks Teri!  At work one of the girls is turning 50.  We usually have some cake and ice cream for that person and I make them a card.  Here is the card I made for her using one of the Delicious Doodles.

I used the Cricut cart Lovely Floral to make the leaf spray for the flowers.

Happy Easter!

I wish you all a very Happy Easter!!

Cool idea stamping right on the doily

I love tea pots and tea cups.  I like the sentiment on this one also.

This card is a new fold.  Really cool!  It has a pocket inside to slip a gift card or sentiment.  Thanks for the instructions Kim.

Next month is male themed cards!  Yikes!  I am not very good at male themed cards.  Wish me luck girls.

April swap

Well it is time again for the swap.  This months swap was feminine cards.  What we have been doing is using the month before the holiday as our swap so we can use the cards we are sent for that holiday.  May is Mother's day so for April we decided on feminine cards.  Next month for May we will make male themed cards because Father's day is in June.  Just in case you were wondering how we picked some of the themes for our swap.  This month I was to send 3 cards to Millie.  Here are the 3 cards I sent her.

I used Cricut lite Lacy Labels on this card.

I used Cricut lite Bloom for the basket of flowers.

I used Flower Shoppe for the 3 blue flowers.

Spring card

I made this card using a little pink doily in the upper left hand corner that my mother crocheted for me.  Around it I put flowers made from the Cricut flower shoppe cart.  Added a die cut from K&Co.  Distressed the edges using Tim Holtz vintage photo ink.  All put on a A2 size kraft colored card base.

Happy Crafting! & Happy Spring!

MilkCoffee Challenge "Anything Goes"

I made this card for the MilkCoffeeStamps Challenge.  It is Anything Goes.  I used a MilkCoffee freebie digi stamp.  It is a 5.5" x 5.5" card.  Not my normal A2 size I use most, but I decided to try something different.  Patterned paper is from MME Lost & Found Madison Avenue.  The Thank You stamp is from Hero Arts.  The little roses up in the corner were a gift from Yoshira. (Thanks again Yoshira!)  I sprayed them with Inkadinkado raspberry spray ink.  The greenery is from a Martha Stewart punch. (Sorry can't remember the name of it)  The circle I cut for the thank you stamp and the digi stamp are from the Plantin Schoolbook cricut cart.  The big circle was cut at 4" and the little circle was cut at 1¾".  I roughed the edges up a bit and used Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink on the edges.  Milk Coffee Digi Stamps are really cute and if you want to check them out here is the link MilkCoffee Shop

Bloom card

I made this card for the Cardz TV Challenge #7 "Let's get Sketchy"  I used the Cricut lite bloom cart.  I find myself using this cart a lot for spring cards.  I also used the cuttlebug to emboss the background and the butterflies are from the spring floral cuttlebug die.
