August card swap

Wow where did the month of July go?  It just seemed to fly right by.  Well onto the August card swap.  This month I sent out a little something different then a card.  I tried my hand at making them each a layout.

Here is what I sent to Millie.

Millie has a little kitty named peanut so I thought I would make her a cat layout.  I used pattern papers I got from a Piggy tales warehouse box sale.  I am a sucker for those warehouse box sales.  You can get some neat stuff in them for a great price.  The photo mat in the middle is for a 4"x6" picture.  The Cricut lite cart used was Four Legged Friends.
The word meow and the yarn ball were cut at 1.5"
The 2 cats were cut at 3"
The little paw prints in the circles were cut at 1"
The heart with the paw print inside was cut at 2.5"

This card was made using a Penny Black stamp that Kim gave me.  It is called winter fairy.  I just love this stamp.  I made a 5"x7" card with it.  It is a pretty big stamp.  I colored her using Spectrum Noir markers.  I added some stickles to the wings and snowball but it is hard to see in this picture.

Millie loves snowmen.  I picked this little guy up for her.  She really liked it.  She loves all and any kind of snowmen.

I sent Millie and Kim each one of these BoBunny stamps to get them ready and geared up for this coming fall.  Which is coming up fast.  Too fast!

Ok next on to what I sent Kim.

I did a little boy layout for Kim.  She has 2 nephews she adores.  The picture mat is 4"x6".  I used 2 Cricut carts to make this one.  Nate's ABCs & Create a Critter.
Nate's ABCs is the little boy holding the jar with the bug in it cut at 3.5"
Create a Critter cart cuts:
Sun 3"
Monkey 2.5"
Turtle 1.5"
Bee 2.5"
Clouds 2" & 2.5"
Grass patches 1.5"
The word Cute 2.5"
The vine going down the picture mat is 2 vines welded together.  I used the Cricut cut room to make it.  I forgot to write down what I cut it at though.  Sorry about that.

I made Kim a card similar to Millie's.  I just used softer colors on Kim's.  No particular reason just wanted to color them different.  It was a fun stamp to color.

For Kim I got her a Sizzix bigz die also.  I got her the stocking.  These dies are awesome because each one comes with a embossing folder.  I also got myself the snowman & stocking.  I can't wait to try them out.  They should make Christmas cards a snap.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and as always Happy Crafting!

More July swap cards

Here are the cards that Millie sent to me for the July card swap.

Now this is a girly card!  What woman doesn't love shoes?  I might not wear the high heeled kind anymore but I still love them.

This is a nice hello card.  You can never have enough of the general cards.  I love the way she used 3 different patterned papers.  The banners under the hello button are cool too.

The picture does not do this card justice.  It has a pretty sparkled silver and gray paper in the background.  A nice silver bow.  The Congratulations is embossed.  Very elegant card.

Thanks for all the great cards Millie.

It won't be long till August swap cards will be coming.  Millie already has hers done.  I need to get busy.

Stay cool and as always Happy Crafting!

More July Swap cards

Millie sent me pictures of the cards she gave to Kim for the July swap.

Nothing says summer like the beach!  Great beach card!

What a cute hello card!  I love the colors in this one.  Very bright and cheery!

Another bright and cheery card.  Neat flower design in the middle.  I like the colorful brads on the corners.

I will be posting the cards Millie sent me when I get them.
Enjoy your day & Happy Crafting!

Christmas in July card

I made a Christmas card for the CARDZ TV "Christmas in July challenge".  It was different to make a Christmas card while you have the fan on because your hot....LOL!  Living here in Pennsylvania we feel the cold at Christmas time.

I used the Jolly Holiday lite cricut cart.  I cut this little elf at 3.5".  Added some packages in his little wagon & decorated him up with some bling.

Kim's cards for the July swap

Well time to show you all what Kim sent me for the July card swap!
Kim did Christmas in July.

I love this card with the little girl catching snowflakes and how Kim put pearls on the card.  Very pretty card!

This card is cool.  Kim embossed it and added some gems for ornaments.  Very classy!

Last card Kim used some paper like peppermint stripes and made this cute card.
Great cards Kim!

Now on to all the goodies Kim sent me.  Once again she has spoiled me rotten.

Kim sent me a cuttlebug embossing folder similar to the one she used on her card.  Millie, Kim, & I all have cuttlebugs so we like our embossing folders.

Next some very Noel brads.  I love the little snowflakes.

These accents come in handy for making Christmas cards where you just need a extra touch.

Now this stamp she sent me I just absolutely love.  It is not a little stamp either.  She is so sweet.  I just love fantasy stamps.  I adore this one.

A very nice sentiment to put in the Christmas cards.
Thanks to Kim I am all ready to start making some Christmas cards right now.
Thank You Kim for everything I loved it all.

July card swap

Wow the month of June just flew by.  I can't believe it is July already.  Here are the cards I sent to Millie & Kim this month for the July card swap.

For this card I used the Tim Holtz's Tattered flowers sizzix die for the flowers.  The tag on the front comes from the pack of tags that Millie sent me last month.  The lace used at the bottom came from a pack of trim from Webster's.  I also did some sewing around the edges.  Yeah I can't believe I pulled my machine out.  I used a cream thread but now I am thinking I should have used white cause you can hardly see it.  I also embossed the card base.  I can't remember the folder I used.  I have so many embossing folders I need to start using them.

This was a fun card to make.  The pink frame was just a piece of plain chipboard.  I painted it pink and glued some glitter on it.  Put a flower and some embellishment's on.  The key is a brad that Kim gave me.  I really liked them.  Not as heavy as the metal keys you can get.

This card was a bright and cheery card.  The reason I did a mushroom is when I took the dog out I noticed a bunch of mushrooms in the grass.  It just put me in the mood to do a mushroom card.  I made the mushroom from the Cricut Cindy Loo cart.  It is such a cute cart.  Once again I embossed the background.  Trying to use those embossing folders more.

Next on to the goodies I put in the ladies swap bags.

I seen these really cute layer stickers from MME at my LSS.  Then I found a paper pad that goes with it.  So I got each of the ladies a pack of the stickers and then I split the paper pad between them so they would have some matching paper to go with the stickers.

As I was looking at the stickers with the kite on it.  I decided some cool felt clouds would be nice to go with the goodies too.

I went to a place called surplus city.  They have all kinds of lace n such.  So I picked up a yard of this and that lace and gave Kim & Millie a foot each.  We all got a foot each.  I have plenty of lace but I thought this lace was neat cause it had a line of small pearls on it.  I got the lace with pink and white pearls.  I also picked up a lacey applique.  We can find so many things that you would have never thought to use on a card only to find out hey that can work.

I decorated these little tea lights.  I seen it somewhere but can't remember and decided to give it a whirl.  Here is what I came up with.  I hope the ladies like them.

That's my July swap for Millie & Kim.  When they send me theirs I will be sure to post.

I hope everyone has a great 4th of July!
Be safe, & enjoy!

Happy Crafting!

June card swap continued

I got Kim's card swap package yesterday.  All I can say is these ladies are knocking my socks off.  Beautiful cards and so many great goodies.  It feels like Christmas every month.

Here is the card Kim did with the cheery cherry stamp challenge from Millie.  Such a cute card.

Very sweet strawberry card.  I love how she used the flower I sent in last months swap.  Sweet card Kim.

This is a cute card and I love the stamp.  I also like how you did the background paper.  Very cool!

This card is soooo pretty!!  I love the flowers and bird embellishments.  I like how you wrapped the string around the saying.  The background paper is so cool also.  Very pretty Kim!

Now this card is just adorable!!  I love this stamp.  I used to swing a lot when I was a little girl.  Of course back then we didn't have computers and things.  Just swings, jump ropes, and a set of jacks.....LOL.  What is even better Kim sent me this stamp.  Thank you so much Kim!  I love it!!

Here are some more goodies that Kim sent me.  I like the Spectrum Noir color chart.  Now I can throw away those cardboard backs from the markers I was keeping.  It is still taking me some practice to get used to using them.  Thanks for the bling......LOL.  The ladies know I love bling.  Also the monogram stamp is cool and I can always use some running glue.

Now this is something new for me.  I haven't tried the stitching yet.  I will be exploring this one.

Now this little goody is burning right now.  Mmmmm and it smells so good.  Thanks so much Kim for all the wonderful cards and goodies.

More June cards

Millie really impressed me this month with some really great cards & goodies!  Ok as you all know Millie is the one that sent Kim and I the cherry stamp.  Well here is what she did in the way of Cheery Cherries.

This is great!  She made a card with a recipe on the front.  So cute!  The recipe is for a Cheery Cherry Crisp.  Way to go Millie.  I love it!!

Next up she sent a cup with cherries on it.  Plus she put a pack of Black Cherry kolaid inside.  This is so sweet!

Now on to the other cards she sent for this month.

Well first off I have to say Millie knows I love sunflowers.  So you know this card is one of those cards I will probably never use and keep for myself....LOL.  I love the yellow fibers you have wrapped around the background paper.  That is so cool Millie and I will probably lift that idea from you sometime.  I have lots of fibers but never really used them for a card like this before.  Thanks for the idea.  This card rocks!

What a beautiful card!  I love the background.  Very creative.  The flowers are so pretty & the little bumble bees are so cute.

Now we come to the goodies part.

I love these tags.  Very pretty.  Then the dry eraser domestic goddess board.  Well hey what woman wouldn't like that one.....LOL.

Next some cool tag stickers.  I love the swirly stickers.  They are really versatile.  I love the star ribbon.

Thanks for everything Millie.  I appreciate it all!  Kim and you are spoiling me with all the wonderful goodies in the card swap packages.  To think this was supposed to be a one card swap and it has really turned into something wonderful.  Lets keep up the great work ladies cause I love having some cards on hand for those times when you need something special.

Happy Crafting!!
