Last batch of Feb swap cards

Millie hand delivered her February swap cards to me just this morning.  School is cancelled today due to all the snow and ice coming our way.  Not to mention all the snow we already have piled up.  I believe we will end up being in school half the month of June to make up for all the snow days.  It will be a short summer vacation.  So I had time this morning to take pictures of the swap cards and post them.  Millie had a owl of a time with this batch.

This is just the cutest birthday card.  I so love the owl paper.  I like how she has the owl sitting.  Really cool.

This card is beautiful with the gold glitter paper.  The sweet owl she added to this one just fits the sentiment.  Another great card!

These are the envies she made to go with the cards.  Kim and Millie do a great job making envies with their Stampin Up envelope punch board.  The one they bought me for my birthday I use more for other things along with envelopes which you will see in the March card swap.

Now on to the goodies.  Millie is great for creating themes for her swaps as you will see here with the goodies she gave me.

I mean where does she find all this cute stuff.  Pretty clips on a cute owl.  A hanging ornament that says Best Friends.  Owl with hearts socks.  Felt owls and hearts on clothes pins.  So CUTE!

This here just knocks my socks off!!  The pink owl is hand cream and the little blue one is lip balm.  I mean how stinkin sweet is that.  The other is a owl knick knack.  Which will be sitting on the very shelf I used to take a picture of.  I mean really where does she find all the matching things for our swap?  I never match like this.
Great job once again Millie.

I hear it is to get around 40+ degrees the rest of the week.  Hopefully some of the snow will melt off but not to fast we don't need floods next.

Love You Card

I decided to make a card and enter some challenges.  Since they cancelled school for 2 days I had a little extra time.  We got hit with a good amount of snow.  They are calling for more tonight.  Enough already.  I am ready for some sunshine!

For this card I used MME Honey pattern paper. I used the Cricut lite Lacy Labels for the die cut.  I embossed the center using the cuttlebug swiss dots folder.  Added some pearls, flowers, and glossy accents on the hearts.

Challenges I am entering:

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog FCCB Challenge #197 I Heart You 2/16/14
Cut it Up Challenge Blog Cut it Up Challenge #38 2/19/14

Next batch of February swap cards.

Kim's cards for the February card swap.

First off she sent a very pretty card with a embossed background.  She also made the envie behind the card.  I love the die cut she used.  Very pretty card.

Next she made a shaped card.  Cool card Kim.  She put a little butterfly in the center and stamped on the edges of the center.  Neat card Kim!

This card she made using a really pretty die.  I like the embossed background and the glittered sentiment.  Kim also sent me a heart die and the stamp with the same sentiment as on this card.  She sent a challenge to Millie and me to make a card using the die cut and stamp.  Guess I better get busy on it.

Now on to all the goodies she sent me this month.

What a cute package of hearts!  You did a great job on this project Kim!

Next she sent me some eyelets for my Crop-A-Dile.  Kim knows my taste when she picked out these adorable vintage tags.  I just love them.

Here is the die she sent me along with the stamp.  Great die Thanks Kim!!  Also the cutest little pocket book with some change in it.  So sweet.  I also like the pair of Valentine socks she sent.  I have them on now.  Keeping my feet warm.  It is cold out there tonight.

Of course what is Valentine's day without some bling!  Love the bling Kim!!

Thanks Kim for everything.  I shall get busy on creating something using the heart die and the stamp.

Millie will be the next batch still to come this month.

February card swap

I am so glad to get the month of January over.  It was a cold month.  At least in February we have the Winter Olympics this year, and as always Valentine's day.  I also have 2 birthdays this month in the family to celebrate.  That can help the winter months go by a little easier.  Now onto the swap.  Here are the cards I sent out this month.

This little honey bee card is made using MME Honey paper.  I also used the MME Honey stamp (Just Be You).  The flower in the center came from Michael's dollar bins last spring.  I wish I would have bought more of them at the time.  I love the centers on these flowers.

I just love fairies so when I seen this stamp from Prima I had to have it.  The stamp is called Fairy Rhyme.  The blue paper I used is from Piggy tales Georgie Porgie Collection.  I got this paper from one of their warehouse sale boxes awhile back.  I am such a sucker for warehouse sale boxes.  The yellow paper is from Webster's pages clean & simple line.  I believe I got the butterfly charm from Wal-Mart.

For the flower stamp I used MME "The Sweetest thing, Bluebell Remember stamp set".  I used Stampin Up Ink Not Quite Navy.  The pattern paper was also from MME Bluebell Bright Blossom.  I have a good bit of MME paper and stamps.  My LSS was having a good sale so I scooped them up last year.  You will probably see more cards done in the future with MME papers and stamps.

This is a different kind of card.  I used my Stampin Up envelope punch board to make this card.  The paper is 6x6 from Docrafts Spots & Stripes Pastels.  The small clouds are made using a Fiskars small cloud punch.  Dear Lizzy stamps were used for the bigger cloud and hot air balloon.

Now on to the goodies I sent out with the cards.

This is the paper I used on the hot air balloon card.  I also sent a pack to the ladies.  Oh and I had to send some candy.  I also put some chocolate in there but didn't get a pic of it.

As you can tell I sent the ladies the same stamp set I made the above card with.  Also some clouds and some Prima clips.

The last of January swap cards

Ok here are the last of the cards for January card swap.  These are the cards Millie made and sent to Kim and I.  This post will be picture heavy.

Millie made the envelopes for her cards.  Behind each card is the envies she made for them.

I love this card.  Lots of hearts and bling for Valentine's Day.

This is a beautiful card.  I don't have any sympathy cards in my stash.  I do now.

This is a cheery Christmas card.  I love the snowflakes.  So cute!  This one is going away for next Christmas.  I will be 1 card ahead.

This months swap was themed by Millie with Cupcakes!  She made this really cute card.  I love the glitter on the icing.  This cupcake looks so yummy I could pick it off the card and eat it.  I also love the sweet cupcake background paper.

Wait till you see the cupcake goodies she sent me.

She made this gorgeous box.  Tied with a cute ribbon.  On the box is a cupcake magnet for my frig.

Inside the box was this yummy looking cupcake ornament.  I am so hungry for cupcakes now I should call her up and tell her she needs to make me a dozen........LOL!

She also gave me a letter J sticker.  In case you wondering why a J.  My name is Jennifer.  Valentine seals.  A bling cupcake.  So sweet!

Lastly I love this little cupcake holder.  The tiny calendar she gave me fit it perfect.  I love that little calendar with all the yummy cupcakes every month.

Great theme Millie!
Thank You for all the cards and goodies you sent me.

Now here are the cards Millie sent Kim.  Millie scanned them on her printer to her computer and then sent them to me.

Another great batch of cards!

Just because card

I had yesterday off work due to the weather.  I decided to make a card for my son.  He is in Alaska serving in the Air Force.  I am so very proud of him.  Right now he is experiencing very little sun light.  I know that can be a downer.  I wanted to make him a patriotic card to let him know how proud I am of him and maybe brighten his day with a little love from home.

Now I know I said I wouldn't make another sunburst card but.........well Millie inspires me with all the great sunburst cards she makes.  I decided to give it another go.  This one I think went a lot smoother then my first one.  I used the 6x6 doodlebug stars & stripes paper pad.  For the sentiment I used Sizzix stamp and die set.  Also the strip that looks like little circles going under the sentiment came from the die set.  It is called word labels.  I really like this set.  I wish they would make more stamp and die sets.  They are so easy to use.

We got another day off today due to the extreme cold temps.  Maybe I will make it in the craft room again today.

Stay Warm for those experiencing the cold weather and as always
Happy Crafting!

More January swap cards

I finally was able to give Millie her swap cards last night so now I can post them.

This first card I made only Millie got.  She is the Queen of starburst cards.  I thought I would try and make one.  That is exactly what I did....I made one.  I gave it a try but I believe I will leave the starburst cards to the Queen.  The paper used is from the 6x6 paper pad First Edition Desert Blooms that Kim got me.  Beautiful paper.

This card I used a Darice embossing folder for the clouds.  The heart hot air balloon is a alaastudio cut file I got from the Silhouette store.  I thought it was so cute.

This sweet little snowman card I bought from the Silhouette store also.  It is a Samantha Walker design.  I used glitter paper from DCWV.  I love this paper.  Works great in the die cutting machine.  It is thin enough and doesn't lose its glitter.

A little hello card for the stash.  Never hurts to have some hello cards handy.  I used Prima 6x6 paper pad Lyric.  The bingo type hello stamp is a Prima stamp.  Prima makes some cute little stamps for cards.

On to the goodies

This batch of stickers I gave to Kim in the swap package.  She just got a new niece right before Christmas.  This can help for those scrapbooking pages.

Yes it is Christmas goodies after Christmas.  I couldn't help it with those 70% and 80% off items I had to pick up some for Millie and Kim.

I picked up some Little Yellow Bicycle stamps for them.  It is called Love Letters.  I thought they might be able to use them for Valentine's day cards or anytime.

Well that is my cards for this month.  Millie's cards will be coming.  I think she is still working on them.

January card swap!

Brrrrrrrr is it ever cold here.  Down to the single digits at night and the teens in the morning.  I know it is winter but those single digits are wicked when you have to take your dog out at night.  Especially when they take forever if you dog owners know what I mean.  I am like what is out there to sniff but snow!  LOL!  Well enough chatter and on to January card swap.  Kim will be first this month.  She sent us some pretty cards and a special treat.  I will start with the cards first.

I love this card.  So neat.  I like how Kim stamped the image and then colored one of the flowers to make it stand out.  Very pretty card Kim.

This is a beautiful card I can use to give to my mom.  I love her handmade flower.  Very pretty.  Thank you Kim for the great cards.

Now on to the goodies Kim sent me.

This embossing folder is sweet!  I love all the little birds.

I know these are hard to see with the reflection but the snowflake gems are so pretty.  A gorgeous blue.  I really love the clear flower gems.  They will make great centers for handmade flowers.  Kim used one for a flower center on the card she sent me above.

Saving the best for last.  Kim sent Millie and I a $15 Hobby Lobby gift card.  Woot Woot!
Millie is already saying that today after work we need to go spend that before it burns a hole in our pocketbooks......LOL!

Thank you so much for everything Kim.

Birthday card for Kim

Here is a birthday card I made for my card swap buddy.
Happy Birthday Kim!

I used a Stampendous birthday fairy cling stamp.  Then I emboss the whole image with a holographic embossing powder.  It is hard to see from this picture.  A neat technique I learned when I took the online class Christmas Cards and Tips to Use all Year Long by Dena Concienne.  That was really a great class.  Glad I took it.  I used 6x6 paper from Authentique Essentials Collection.  I only have two 6x6 paper pads of Authentique.  This one and Christmas one I got as a gift from Millie for Christmas.  I really like their paper and will have to pick up some more.  The flowers came from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The lace and charms I picked up on my scrappy travels and don't really remember where I got them.

Hope you have a great birthday Kim!

Merry Christmas!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Here is a couple Christmas cards I made.

I made this card using my Silhouette Portrait.  I bought the design in the Silhouette store.  It is a Snap Dragon Snippets design.

I also made this one with my Silhouette Portrait.  I bought this design at SVG Attic.com.  It is called Winter Wishes.  They had a couple other cards you could make with the svg package.

I made this vintage card for my sister.  I thought she would like the little girl on this graphic.  She reminded me of her granddaughter.

Merry Christmas!
&
Happy New Year!

Last of the swap cards for Dec.

Here are Millie's swap cards.

Such a cute card.  I like how she did the background like the piece of swiss cheese on the stamp.

Love the color of this card.  The sentiment is very inspiring.

These little purple flowers are so pretty.  Such a beautiful card.

Thanks Millie for the cards.
